The following are policies that apply to the conducting of the Tri Fusion Kids Triathlon:
The parent/guardian is responsible for getting the athlete to the event with sufficient time to be ready for his/her swim wave.
Swim aids such as kickboards or flotation devices will be allowed. Athletes must provide their own swim aids. No fins please.
Adult assistance will be permitted as parents deem appropriate. There will also be volunteers available to assist out on the course.
Training wheels will be allowed but athletes should be aware that the bike course is on packed dirt roads which can be difficult for training wheels.
The upper age limit is 12 years old at the time of the event. There is no set lower age limit but parents/guardians should assess the child's abilities to complete the prescribed course. If parents think a different course distance would be appropriate for their child (as opposed to age) – no problem! Please contact 2phaedra--@--gmail.com to make arrangements. The Tri Fusion Kids Triathlon is intended to be a positive experience and no child should be entered that is not going to benefit from the experience. Being asked to perform beyond one's abilities may not be a positive experience.
The parent/guardian of a physically challenged athlete should contact the event organizers at 2phaedra--@--gmail.com to make arrangement for any special needs.
For the 2008 event there are no relay teams. Only one athlete is permitted per race number.
There are no refunds for the event.
Parents or guardians are permitted in the Transition Area and Finish Area during the race especially for the younger athletes. We just caution parents to be careful of athletes in motion. Volunteers will be present to assist the athletes as well.
